2015: Pathways to Resilience III
The RRC, along with their partners in more than 20 countries, invited many researchers, academics, policy makers, and front-line staff to an international gathering exploring the theme “Pathways to Resilience: Beyond Nature vs. Nurture”, at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2015.
The conference explored many different aspects of resilience, and how the theory is informing research, practice and policy on a global level. Building from the first two highly attended conferences in 2005 and 2010, Beyond Nature vs. Nurture encouraged discussions that examined the protective and promotive processes associated with resilience around the world, as well as how to design clinical interventions, human service systems and social policies that contribute to sustaining resilience. The event began with pre-conference workshops on June 16th, followed by the main event which welcomed an international roster of keynote and plenary speakers, including Ann Masten, Catherine Panter-Brick, and Joop de Jong.
